You are our COMPASS!
We strive to continuously improve services by making the library more comfortable, relevant and user friendly. We need YOUR guidance to make that happen.
The COMPASS Initiative is the library’s way to reach out to the community for guidance to make our services better and support to make new programs possible.
Explore the tabs below to find out how to get involved with making meaningful changes at our library and in our community.
Let’s build something exciting, together.

Here’s how you can get involved:
The most direct way to support library services is to volunteer.
How to Sign Up:
- Complete the Volunteer Application Form. Available here or at the library.
- Deliver it to NEMI Public Library. Bring it to the front desk during regular library hours or leave it in the drop box when the library is closed.
We are currently seeking volunteers for the following positions.

The Senior COMPASS Project is a focused effort to reach out to our senior community members to help make the library better for everyone.

Community Input
From time to time, we ask for input from our patrons in the form of surveys.
See our current surveys here. Click the button to participate!

We want to know what you think!
Type your suggestions, feedback and ideas for services, materials or improvements in the box below.
Hit submit and it will go straight to our inbox, completely anonymously.

Request to Purchase
Let’s build a collection as unique as our community!
Is there a book you would like to read but the library doesn’t have? Interested in a movie or TV series we don’t have? Love a book and think other readers in our community would too?
Let us know what you would like to see on our shelves.
Please keep in mind that we only consider requests from library members.

The NEMI Public Library Board meets throughout the year to discuss issues of library policy and governance. For more information on the board, please see: https://nemi.olsn.ca/nemi-library-board/

Donations
Monetary Donations
Monetary donations are accepted online or via cheque or cash. Donate online here. Tax receipts are available upon request.
Book Donatations
Yes! We do accept donations of gently used books and DVDs. Books & DVDs will be added to the library’s collection at our discretion. Books & DVDs not added to the collection will be added to our book sale or given away. The book sale raises money for the library. We do not accept VHS tapes.
While we love all books, our storage is limited, and we need to make the best use of it. With that in mind, please donate books and DVDs that are:
- in very good condition/have no scratches.
- by popular authors or about popular subjects
- newer (within 5 years) or classic.
Equipment for our Item Lending Library
If you have equipment that you would like to donate, please contact the library CEO, with a description of the item, condition and why you think it would be a good addition to the library’s collection.
Donation receipts for the value of the item are available upon request.
