Equipment Collections
Sharing items as a community reduces the impact on the environment. It also provides community members an opportunity to try out items they are considering for purchase themselves.
How it Works
Adult library members in good standing who have a minimum six month borrowing history are eligible to borrow equipment.
Borrowing
-
-
- An equipment user agreement must be signed.
-
- Contact the Library to request the equipment you wish to borrow. Some items may not be available right away.
-
- Most equipment has a seven-day loan period.
-
- Individuals are responsible for the equipment they borrow and must only borrow equipment that they have the skills and ability to use safely.
- Typically, one equipment item per borrower is allowed. Some exceptions can be made for interrelated items that work together or parents/guardians borrowing equipment for themselves and for their children who are also library members.
-
Returning
-
-
- All equipment is expected to be returned by the date specified.
-
- Equipment must be returned during library hours.
-
- Returning equipment late or dirty, may prevent you from borrowing equipment in the future.
- Equipment renewals for extenuating circumstances may be made according to staff discretion.
-
Overdue Items & Fines
-
-
- A fine of $2 per day will be charged for late equipment.
- The library will charge replacement costs plus a service fee for equipment that is overdue by 10 days or for equipment that is damaged or lost.
-
Special Equipment
-
-
- Requires an item specific user agreement each time it is borrowed
-
- Available for three days
- Must be returned within 15 minutes of the agreed-on time.
-
Please Note
-
-
- Some equipment may be temporarily restricted from being borrowed if it is being used for in-library programs.
- High value equipment may be tracked electronically. Law enforcement or other resources may be utilized to recover unreturned equipment. Any costs related to equipment recovery will be billed to the borrower.
