To Use
- Sign a Makerspace User Agreement
- Provide your own sublimation printer
- Skills needed: The sublimation printer works like a regular printer, you need to know how to print from a computer. Tinkering with printer settings may be required to optimize your printed image.
What You Need To Know
Sublimation printing is a process of bringing ink and fabric together as one. The inks used turn into gas when heated and combine with the fabric to permanently print onto the material applied to. Learn more about sublimation here: Understanding How Sublimation Printing Works
The Epson SureColor F170 printer is a dedicated sublimation printer using high-performance dye-sublimation to print onto special paper. When the inks are applied with heat to fabric or specifically-made blanks, it delivers professional-quality results. Ideal for personalizing awards, mugs, mousepads and more. Unlike vinyl, sublimation will never peel with use or washing because it becomes part of the material it is applied to.
