The TSD Equipment Lending Library is a collection of useful tools and equipment available exclusively for TSD registrants to borrow. The Lending Library contains a variety of equipment and tools for you to take home to learn how to use or improve your skills on.
Borrowing equipment is just like borrowing books from the library. When you come in to pick up the items you want, they will be checked out to your library card.
- Items are available to be borrowed for 1 week.
- Renewals are at the library’s discretion.
- Overdue fines are $2 per day with a maximum of $20 per item.
- You will be billed the replacement cost plus processing fees on the 8th day it is overdue.
- Items are to be returned to the front desk staff. Do not return in the drop box.
- Items will be inspected when returned, please ensure you have enough time for this when you are returning.
To borrow you must:
- Be a TSD registrant
- Be a NEMI Public Library member in good standing for at least the last 3 months. with an established borrowing history.
- Sign the user agreement available at the library

This trigger activated seeder brings field proven seed disc technology into the realm of handheld seeders. The trigger actuated seed disc oscillates rather than rotating continuously in one direction and this has allowed us to put four different size seed cups on one seed disc. The seeder is capable of planting all pelleted seeds and many non-pelleted seeds and many non-pelleted seed into planting trays, soil blocks, raised beds, etc. The different seed cups are changed by turning a knob on the back of the seeder. Small and Large Soil Cube and Block Mold Set
With these molds, it’s easy to make your own soil blocks for starting seedlings. Filled with a simple potting mix that you prepare from coir, compost, sand and soil amendments (instructions included), the molds form lightly compressed blocks of planting medium that are firm enough for handling, so no pots are required. Because the blocks hold moisture well and permit good aeration, seedlings germinate and grow quickly. As roots grow to the edges, they are naturally air pruned, forming a robust, fibrous root structure. When ready to be planted out, the blocks can be placed directly into the ground, saving you time and trouble, as well as minimizing transplant shock. The cube mold makes twenty 3/4″ cubes; the block mold makes four 2″ blocks. Each mold includes a removable insert that forms a dimple on top of the block or cube to accept a seed. In the block mold, dimple makers can be replaced Honda Mid-Tine 21″ Tiller–F220with included cube inserts that make a 3/4″ cavity in the block; this cavity allows you to start a seedling in a cube, then transfer the cube directly into the larger block for further growth.

Any gardener who is plagued with stones, large or small, will appreciate this rake. In designing it, we spent a lot of time getting the right tine shape and spacing so that rocks as small as 3/4″ diameter could be winnowed from the soil without taking a lot of dirt as well. In well-tilled soil, it is an easy matter to clear the top 2″ or 3″ completely of stones. Once you have raked together a pile of stones, you can scoop them up in the basket-shaped head. No more stooping to pick them up or trying to rake them onto a spade. The rock rake picks them up for transfer to a wheelbarrow or bucket, or even for surreptitious dropping over a fence. It can also be used to catapult the stones some distance. The whole tool is light (the head weighs only 3/4 lb) and has hardened steel tines that flex without deforming. 65″ overall, with a 6″ wide basket. In our tests, we found it to be an outstanding invention, removing all rocks from 3/4″ to 4″ in diameter, leaving a smooth stone-free soil. Also ideal for harvesting potatoes. An excellent tool.
